Fishing in lakes and rivers
The Haut-Jura offers a stunning natural setting for river and lake fishing.
In the heart of the Regional Nature Park, amongst majestic forests and spectacular cliffs, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views that invite you to simply take it all in.
Where to fish
Permits issued by the Haut Jura AAPPMA allow you to fish:
- The river ‘La Bienne’, from Bief de la Chaille (Les Rousses) to the locality known as ‘Le Rafu’ (Longchaumois)
- The ‘Évalude’ stream, from ‘En Chapeau’ (Bellefontaine) to its confluence with the Bienne
- The ‘Nanchez’ river (at Prénovel, Chaux des Prés, Grande Rivière and Les Piards)
- Lake Les Rousses
- Lakes Bellefontaine and Les Mortes (non-reciprocal waters)
A no-kill zone has been established on the River Bienne at Morez, from downstream of the bridge near the Espace Lamartine to upstream of the Lamartine Bridge.
Fishing licence
The Haut-Jura Gorges de la Bienne Tourist Office issues daily, weekly and annual licences from the Haut-Jura AAPPMA.
Reciprocal agreements with the AAPPMA ‘La Biennoise’ (on the River Bienne as far as its confluence with the River Ain) and the AAPPMA ‘La Gaule Lédonienne’.
